Family Night ~ Always Interesting

We took the kids out to the ballet on Wednesday night. It was La Bella Durmiente, "Sleeping Beauty." It wasn't reeeally what we had in mind, especially when the prince, in street clothes, got "stripped" by some of the other dancers. The girls actually thought he was naked, but it was really a skin-colored leotard. Um, I don't remember that part in the Disney movie.

It was a continuation of the story of Sleeping Beauty. It should have been called, Aurora and Prince Charming, After the Wedding. It was a tad weird. I'm not really a modern dance aficionada, this was ballet with a modern bent and it left us all a little stupified.

Afterward, we took the kids to a Brazilian pizza restaurant, owned by a German guy in Spain. We love this kind of thing, there's always a story behind it. Unfortunately I don't know it all, the waiter took the menus away too quickly. As we were waiting for our pizza Eva decided to experiment with her water glass, it was wide and thin glass. I'm guessing her thought process was something like:

Hmm, this is a weird glass. When I tap my teeth on it it clinks. I wonder what happens when I bite it? OH, well, this is strange, look at my parents freak out. What is the big deal? Yes, I have large and small shards of glass sticking out of my mouth, but it doesn't hurt. I'm actually wondering about chewing this glass and seeing what happens. Oops, too slow, my parents have already pried my jaw open and all the glass has fallen off the table. I'm not supposed to put things in my mouth that have been on the table in a restaurant. What? NO, there's no little pieces still in my mouth, you got them all out! NO, it doesn't feel like sand, or sharp things in my mouth! NO, I'm not bleeding and it doesn't hurt! Sheesh, what is the matter with you people!?!? Why do I have to swish my mouth out? Calm down already!

Yes, I'm pretty sure that is exactly what she was thinking...
